This is something that I have wanted to do for a long time: make a knife as close as I could to the Green River style trade knife. From old photos I have seen, this type of scabbard is worn under the belt as shown in my photo. Any buckskinners or cowboy shooters out there in need of a new knife?

1/8 inch 1095 heat treated to Rc 59-62
Flat ground
Matte finish with a touch of gun blue and etchent
Stabilized curly maple handle
Overall length: 9 1/2 inches
Blade: 5 inches
Riveted leather scabbard

----SOLD----]delivered to the US or Canada. Paypal (my account is gldrewknives@yahoo.com) or money order accepted.

Thanks for the comment MMM; As far as choosing a knife, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. (Who said that, was it Shakespere or was it in the bible someplace?"

I had a bad morning

I send you paypal or some other payment. Email me when you get a chance.

Very very nice, Gerry. Another I'd like to have one of.

(Why did I have to go and make a budget... )

Looks like the knife is going to Canada. SpearZ and I are still talking about the method of payment but I'm sure that it is sold.

Man! That's what I get for working on my taxes all day and not looking at the board.
Gerry , You can make another one of those. Just keep me in mind.

Yeah...make more...a few more...excellent work!

I would not hesitate to "I'll take"

I'll be watching...

Wonderful! Very, very nice.
I am amazed at the amount of talent you and some others regularly exhibit.
Thank you and all the left brained knife makers for your creativity (even if this one is a reproduction, it is art imvho).

Very nice, Gerry!! Good job on design, finish and handle. Flat grind really came out well as did the aging on the blade. Looks like you and 1095 will get along with no problems.
Rick

Can't afford one, and I really want to focus on seax/scramasax and puuko blades to make, but this thing has me drooling.

Really nice work. You have to make more or I'll get distracted and make one tha'ts maybe half as good if I'm lucky

Thanks everyone for the great feedback. I'm afraid there won't be anything for a couple of weeks; I just tore my shop down and will be moving it to the new house this week-end. will post photos of the new and improved shop on my web site.
