Permanent Pocket Residents (PPR)

I've bought more than a dozen knives, probably a couple of dozen, since I was gifted my first Southard over a year ago:

Since then, the only knife that's managed to beat out that Southard with any regularity are these guys:

So, it's pretty much all Southard all the time, with the occasional William Henry day thrown in here or there. I guess a pimped Southard is my permanent pocket resident . . .

Mostly carry two knives each day. Right front pocket is always my sebbie insingo micarta. The other is always a spydie but the model varies on what I'm doing that day.

Victorinox Super Tinker that I've carried for years...Christmas gift from the wife.
ZT566 for the past month, since I got it, and probably a favorite for a long time.

I always have my Nishijin Dragonfly2(best cash clip ever!), Leatherman Juice Xe6, and Fenix PD20. Main blade alway rotates tho lol...

It's low on the price spectrum but the Spyderco/byrd Cara Cara 2 FRN. I love it. I don't mind the more mild 8cr13mov steel (Still leauges ahead of the average dude on the street's knife) I love the "Byrd" style. (including the feather texture and comet hole) My dad has an Endura 4 and despite the slight quality difference (Which from my understanding is mostly the steel and polishing/ sanding down the handles) I prefer the Cara Cara 2. The other pocket lingerer is my Leatherman Micra.

We all have EDC knives - just something we're comfortable carrying here and there without concern. However, sometimes there's that one that never seems to want to leave your side... And becomes a permanent resident in the pocket.

Although the backup knife will change, my latest acquisition is making a strong case for an exclusive contract with my front right pocket.

Which of yours has become a true every day carry? Mine hasn't left my pocket since I took it out of the box.

Man....... you're killing me. I'm going to TNK to order my Grail and soon to be PPR. You have pushed me over the edge and I blame you 100%. :)

Update: Out of Stock!! Hahahaaa My plan worked lol

About two-thirds of the time I carry the Rod Olson Quick Flick LSCF which is the middle folder/flipper.

One of my Pm2 s seems to usually find its way into my pocket unless I want a beater for work. For me these are the best compromise in every regard.

I dont have a knife I always carry yet. I have too many knives to not rotate them. Even my newly aquired Sebenza has its turn then I move on to something else.

I do see a pattern in my recent carry habits, and I usually only rotate between 6 or 7 knives out of the drawer. A couple of my favorite knives from Benchmade, Spyderco, ZT, and the Sebenza

Its been 4 weeks since I got this and it has been in my pocket all but 2 days. Rob hit this one out of the park!

I'm still looking for a PPR. I don't believe I'll ever find one, though. I like too many different features.

This one right here. Nothing glamorous, but it stays with me, day in and day out. I work outside in all weather conditions and the native has proven to be the perfect work EDC for me. Light, good steel, excellent ergo's, and being rained on about a hundred times no sign of rust.

It has been a long, long time since I had one that seemed permanent. Now I have too many vying for time to be in my right front pocket that none of them can be permanent except as a group. My fanny pack though is a different puppy. A Victorinox Fieldmaster has been in it since last May and a Leatherman Juice2 since the first of the year. I also have a Spyderco Szabo that has ridden inside the lower pouch for the past 1 1/2 months and don't see that changing anytime soon. So I have some that are trying to become PPR's, just not in my right front pocket.:)

Benchmade 710-2 in M390. If I could ever find a PM2 in M390 that costs less than my soul, that may take the Benchmade's place.
