A quick question about the Perrin FB04.

A shop near me has two of these for sale. One is marked with a number on the spine of the blade.

What is the significance of the number?

Thanks,

The FB-04 Perrin model was one of the very few Spyderco knives that had the collector number on the spine of the blade. The only other model of Spyderco knife I can remember that had the collector number on the spine of the blade was the "R" model.

The original name for the FB-04 Perrin is the Street Bowie. I was discontinued back around either late 04 or early 05. It's now sort of ignored now that the newer Perrin model called the "Street Beat" has now become so popular. I hope that helps.

I wouldn't mind having one of those depending on the price. How much are they and what is the name and location of the dealer?

Please let me add some detail to the info JD Spydo gave: all FB04 Perrins from the first batch are consecutively numbered on the spine of the blade. Collector numbers have their end at #200. I own #435 and #436 and these aren't collector numbers.

You see, significance is if it's from first batch or not. If both knifes have the same price in your shop, I would take the numbered Perrin as there is no difference in quality to follow-up production. What's your advantage? Well, you would have an individual numbered knife which doesn't exist twice :)

The highest number I saw on a FB04 Perrin was #805. I wonder what the highest number from the first batch was.
