Perrin Peronni Thiel Spyderco?

What do you think about?

Thanks to have at least enough courtesy to mention credits when you use one's pictures without permission (in this case, my knife and my pictures...).

Nevermind, I'm glad they are shared here and I think my friends Fred, Philippe and Sacha wouldn't mind about it.

As stated above, the original PPT design and specs are from Fred (Perrin), with suggestions of his close mate Philippe Perotti. Fred asked young (and talentuous) knifemaker Sacha Thiel (I formely commissioned him on a collaboration knife - the Blue-Bali I designed few years ago), and that explains the finish don't look like the usual Perrin style... (though Fred is able to come with some gorgeous and very neatly finished pieces from time to time... ;)).

Thus, the acronym PPT stands for Perrin / Perotti / Thiel.

The custom PPT provides a titanium handle and either a RWL34 or a D2 flat or hollw grind blade. Also available with G-10 scales.

OK now here are some additionnal pictures.

Wow!! PPT is an amazing collaboration, and Theil seems to make a fantastic folder. Another "can't wait to own it" Spyderco.

Tuan,

I didn't think to miss courtesy using no credited pictures from a knifemaker website. There were no mentions it was your knife and your pics. There was no mention of a copyright.

My only concern was to make know the works of a talentuous maker not to get any benefit of the publication of those pics in a forum.

The good point is that, now, i know you not only write great reviews in "La passion des couteaux" but make great pics as well.

Be sure it won't happen again.

I would have to get it in the D2 blade after owning my D2 Para for about 3 days I love it so far and I would expect nothing less from the Perrin.

I will take two...make it three actually!

What a fantastic blade shape, I hope Spyderco uses the flt ground variation and not hollow ground.

:D

dantsk, this is no big deal, and that is not a problem that pics are shared since they were formely posted on different places on the internet. But even if there is no copyright mention, that's precisely what I call courtesy - and not a legal obligation - to mention at least where you've borrowed those pics (knifemaker's website, forums...). In none of your posts were provided informations about where the pics you display come from (in that case, Sacha's website). For instance, the guy who posted a new topic inspired from this thread on the Spyderco forum (http://spyderco.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36827) had the courtesy to mention and link your thread here. Another guy posted the pics eventually, and he had [a kind of] courtesy to state that "All photos have been stolen from dantzk8".

My point is just : information runs fast on the internet, and missing some courtesy credits can sometimes easily lead to misinformation.

Btw, Philippe's last name is Perotti, not Peronni.

But don't sweat about it. As I said above, that's no big deal, I know your concern was right and it's a good thing you wanted to share those news here. No hard feelings, have a nice day dantsk ! :)

Tuan,

Thanks for those kind words. The fact is i have forgotten to mention the Sacha Thiel's website link. I sincerely apologise. My apologises to mister Perotti as well. By the way my pseudo is dantzk with a "z". Those things happen. Not a big deal for me and you are right: i didn't do all what i had to do. I assume that, this time, looking at your pics i've lost the common sense i try usually to keep. But have you seen this fine lockbar cut? Incredible isn't?

Have a nice day Tuan.

Thanks for the great pics T-Wan, especially the comparison with Lum. Great-looking knife. Can't wait for the Spyderco version - I hope it stays true to the general size/shape of this one.

Wow. This one's definitely got my attention. The hollow ground version is really beautiful, but I'll take either blade grind!:D
