This D-Guard, as-well-as all the knives John makes, is very well made. I got to play with it at the Blade Show and pick John's mind on how he shaped the guard. Thanks for the tips John. Will have to try my hand at one soon.
That handle is done in tiger maple with a Maple Magic stain. It came from an old gunstock maker up in PA. This was some really nice wood that even looks great blond with just oil finish. I like making a palm swell whenever I can. It gives a much better grip an feel.
