Hello bladeforums!

I feel like I need to give a little introduction here, rather than just leaping right out into it!

My name is Steve. I've been (crafting) around the hunting forums for awhile, but I haven't yet ventured into the knifemaking world.

My main focus has been predator calls, predator calling, and especially Mt Lion calling and Mt Lion calling sounds and techniques.
I've been making knives since about 2007, but I've pretty much stuck to that market; predator hunting and hunting in general.

I am maintaining the hunting end of my shop, but I hope to morph more into the knifemaking side of things from here on out.

I've been along the path for awhile, started with pre-fab blades, then went to grinding billets and sending them out to my early mentor (Gene Martin - Provision Forge) for heat treat, then got into stainless and starting doing my own furnace and cryo, then got into forging carbon - still heat treating with the oven, but also going to the flaming oil and fire routine. Most recently I've found a new Damascus mentor (John Davis, Selah WA) and started building more shop equipment and doing my own damascus.

I'm liable to do just about anything, but this is one of my latest damascus babies!

River pattern. 1080 and 15n20, stacked and drawn to emulate a flowing river. Forge heat treated. Ferric Chloride etch.

14” overall, 9” cutting edge.

Brass cast by me, from rifle casings and bulk stock. (Scale pinned, rather than weakening the ricasso.)

Musk Ox Horn Boss, Amboyna Burl, peened and glued Brass pins.

Vegetable tanned 14oz cow hide and Ostrich hide cross draw sheath.
(Designed for cross-draw, but actually sits nice and draws nice from the right hip also, just has to go a little far back to get free.
Lefty can left-hip combat draw.)

Handles beautifully, razor sharp.

$500 delivered.
