Hey all, I've recently become infatuated with upswept edc blades, or so-called Persian style: crkt swindle, crkt persian folder, cold steel scimitar and talwar, boker kwaiken, etc. Any other good ones out there? Pros cons? Love em hate em? Talk amongst yourselves

Benchmade makes the Bedlam and Emerson makes a Persian also (hard to get though). I typically don't like the upswept point as I am partial to the point being more in line with the pivot, but that is just my opinion/preference, and is the only reason I didn't keep the Bedlam (nice knife). They are definitely cool looking.

While it isn't the most efficient blade shape in terms of utility, it still cuts and slices well enough for most everyday tasks. Just be mindful of the tip. I do carry this from time to time mainly because it's so damn sexy.

Another for the Emerson P-Tac.
Great knife.
I've also got a Spyderco Persian that carries nicely. Worth a look.

I couldn't agree more, although I don't carry mine much for fear of breaking the tip.

The Emerson Persian is definitely a more focused design than the others.

I'm not a big fan of Emerson factory grinds on my edc so I put a 18 (or so) degree bevel on both sides with my Edge Pro.
Now it's incredibly sharp and it strengthens the tip.
I was using it for an ice pick to access a door yesterday. The tip suffered zero damage. Again, great knife!
Thing is with the upswept point, any Persian tip is going to be fragile by design unless considerations are made on the grind for strength.

Wow beautiful , do you know the blade length on that on ?

That's a William Henry B11 Persian kicked up a lot.
A gentleman's folder with a 2.5" blade and would cost me the better part of two weeks pay.
Beautiful piece.

How about an Olamic Cutlery Persian Neck Knife with a 2.62" Damascus blade.

Boker has one too...don't remember the name.

I was wanting a persian for awhile and went for the Emerson after finding the Bedlam wasn't for me. I'm glad I did, crazy cool design. It's not an EDC for me, but I have zero regrets getting it.
