Hi everyone!

Here is a knife I'll have on display at the Little Rock, AR show next week. I'll have two or three more at the show as well, however this will be the most elaborate one I'll have.

The 11" blade has a mosaic core and modified "W" twist bars on the outside. The blade is up-swept with a long clip. The handle is walrus ivory. I made the fittings out of A-36 and gun blued them. I also added some fine silver inlay. The file-worked liners are of titanium as is the inset in the pommel. This is also the first knife I've made with a Spanish Notch.

I would like to thank Caleb for the great work he did on the pic.

Let me know what you think. Thanks for looking!

that is KILLER! Love it, great work and very imaginative:thumbup::cool:

AWESOME Kyle! I especially like that damascus.

Caleb took an outstanding picture too!

Kyle, I predict this knife will win an award in Little Rock. The not so secret secret is to avoid entering any category with a Ron Newton knife. ;) The alternative strategy is more compelling. Going head to head with Ron in any class, but especially the Best Art Knife class, and winning...

The judging this year is different since the table-holders themselves will judge the knives (unless I'm mistaken). My point is, that is a great knife Kyle and most of those judging the knives know a great one when they see it.

It's a beautiful piece of work and dang, that Caleb is a quick study!

Wheww, Kyle,

You're really bringing it!

Looking forward to seeing you again, as well as your newest work.

That's a beautiful piece, the dark fittings and the contrast in the handle make it really pop. Well done Kyle, this one is one of my favorites from you, stellar! Wish I could be there to handle it.

Kyle,
I think this is the best piece of damascus you have made to date. It is complex, stunning and well executed. Can't wait to get some slobber on it.

Buddy,
Kyle's starting to scare me a little. I think it's time for me to run faster.

Just when I thought it couldn't get any better...................

It's gorgeous!

Great looking knife, love the damascus, the three piece handle and the color contrasts.

If I'm allowed one remark it would be the Spanish Notch. I like them in general, but in this case given the size of the blade (11 inch) I would have liked it to be (a little) more pronounced. Now it looks a bit like an afterthought imo and I'm sure you weren't aiming for that.

Beautiful knife, Kyle. The Friday banquet in Little Rock is going to be a pure joy with all of the fantastic knives that will be there on display and this one is certainly worth a closer look. Love the damascus pattern! :)You've got a couple of hours welding on this one.

Did someone request the Persian style or did you just feel like making one?

Looking forward to seeing you in Little Rock.

Thanks for the compliments fellas!

I'm looking forward to the show next weekend.

Hankins, The handle is fossil walrus ivory.

Ron, I'll bring some paper towels to clean your slobber off. ;):)

Marcel, I understand what you are saying about the Spanish Notch. It's a little more noticeable when you see the knife in person. I think a little more pronounced notch wouldn't hurt.

Gary, I wanted to make this knife a Persian style and I had a piece of walrus that worked out good with the design. I was talking about the design with my mom and she thought it would look good with a grip spacer in the handle and that made me think of what it might look like with two grip spacers, so I went with two. You can actually find grip spacers on a few classic Persian knives/swords.

Thanks everyone. You all make knives extra special to make.

Kyle

Absolutely outstanding Kyle. Unfortunately I won't be in LR but this would be one I'd be pursuing actively. Spanish notch is ok but I'd not miss it either. Are you doing a sheath for it too? Hope it would be equally exciting as this is one spectacular piece. Congrats and same to Caleb.
