Offered for sale is a very large damascus dagger by American Bladesmith Society Master Smith, C. Robbin Hudson. This Persian influenced, double edged dagger is composed of a 7 bar pattern welded steel blade with Rob’s signature octagonal walnut handle with all steel fittings. This knife is in original, unaltered condition and the wait time for his pieces was up to seven years. This is a wonderful opportunity to get a very large, masterpiece dagger from one of the finest bladesmiths of the ABS.
The details are as follows;
Overall Dimensions: 19.5” long, 4”+ wide at the double guard
Blade: 14” long x 2” wide, 7 bar composite pattern welded steel
Handle: 5.5” long overall, the handle is octagonal, the wood is stabilized walnut with a wonderful flame pattern, the double guard and pommel are all steel and the pommel is extensively file worked.
This is a phenomenal custom knife, entirely hand made and forged by a master smith and is truly heirloom quality. Any marks that may appear on the blade or fittings are from oil and wax. The knife has no scratches, nicks, dings, etc.
I realize these pictures do not even come close to doing the knife justice. I guarantee the knife looks much better and is impressive in person. I am not a photographer and don’t even pretend to be one. If you know damascus and you know Rob’s work, than you will easily know what this knife looks like. There are no surprises here.
