These are from my own personal collection. As you can tell, I like knives in the 4" range.

We have the JK Hiker:

The Breeden Pathfinder:

And the Fiddleback Bushcrafter:

I am normally a leather sheath kind of guy. But something about the red handle with black liners just screamed to me that it needed kydex.

So, I figured, who better to send it to than our own Jeff H. I was not dissapointed at all!

Check on these nice, clean lines!

The fit is amazing:

I also had Jeff make me a firesteel loop, but for some weird reason, I had it off for the pictures.

I have seen quite a bit of kydex, and this is heads above anything that I have ever seen. The finish is great, the fit is great, the retention is great. I just don't know what else I can say good about it.

Awesome knives and yes, that is a sweet bit of kydex work. Now I know who to turn to when I need some . Thanks,Steve

Nice collection! Supporting the forum makers is not only a way to ensure that the American craftsman never dies out but it's addicting too!

Great collection Brian. The guys around here make great knives and we have some great sheath makers to boot. Both leather and Kydex!

Jeff made a kydex sheath for me and the fit/retension and quality is amazing. Truely first class.

Dang, Brian, I like your taste in Kydex:o, but I really like your preferences in knives too! I have much the same set of preferences and have been enjoying being able to get what I like from our "friend-blademakers."

It's been an honor and a pleasure to get the chance to help forum-members "accessorize" their special knives and there's always a little bit of pressure to make sure the sheath is worthy of the knife.

Great blades, Brian!:thumbup::thumbup:

Edit: ....and great pics! Mine have been slipping a bit lately and this stuff puts the pressure on.

I have been considering getting my first forum member knife, all listed and a gossman are all under consideration.
The Breeden peacemaker looks like a good one too, can't decide which one I like more.

great looking knives brian....

we definately have some talented knife makers on this forum, as well as sheath makers...:D i have 2 knives from each of those makers, as well as 2 sheaths from jeff...:D:cool:

I think I like the shape of the one with the black handle the best- but by far the one with the red handle looks like the best blade of the 3.

The other 2 sort of look unfinished to me next to the red handled one. Looks like about twice the time was put into it as the others. Obviously time and effort was put into shaping the handle in an ergonomic way. Also it appears to have the best grind, appearing from the pics to have a really nice polished out convex. The other 2 have the easy to put on but not that hot for cutting (IMO) V grind zipped on there:thumbdn::rolleyes:

I think the end user did the polishing on that convex edge there. I convex the edge, but I don't polish my edges. I prefer a toothy edge, AND, I expect the user to want to put his own edge on the knife too!

Man, some great pics. We've some talented photogs around here too!

I think that I am going to have to get one of each of those. The handle on that Breeden just appeals to me for some reason. I think it has got something to do with all of the smooth lines that they have. Real nice looking collection that you have there.

Well he did a killer job!

Well he did a killer job!

I had that one in-hand and, yes, he did. It's VERY sharp. I did not try it on anything other than post-its but he did a good job - nice to see. Mine got a re-do pretty much to the spine and worked out very much to my satisfaction. That flat-grind Bryan is doing works nicely with a "high" (3/16" or so) secondary convex edge (polished). With the flat grind going to the spine, it does not leave any exrtra "meat" in the way to drag or wedge.

Very nice collection of blades Brian. I too favor blades in the 4" range, with a nice axe on the side. :D

Yup, I did that. I am guilty :D

I know it really comes down to personal preference, but I really dig the super high polished. It is durable, stays sharp longer, and is super easy to maintain. I pretty much do this to all my blades.

I can also see why it is not shipped that way. It is easier to put on than it is to take back off :D

However, since so very few blades come this way, I really wish more people are able to experience a blade sharpened in such a way. I encourage you to try it yourself, or if you are not comfortable with that, I would trust Siguy with any one of my knives!

The cool thing about Bryan's knives, is they do come that way. Extra bonus for someone who wants to try it. You might not like the high flat, but the secondary is mildly convex (from slack belt) and taken to a high polish. It is rare to see that.

I just got the JK, so I had not yet put my polish on it. I always like to try things out for at least a few minutes before I go grinding on it :D

In general, I like 3 grinds:
- Full convex
- High, or full flat grind, with convex secondary
- Scandi

They are all different, and each have trade-offs. If I had to choose one, I guess I could. But, I see no reason to yet :thumbup:Outing dictates gear, and it changes by the minute around me :D

Thanks everyone for looking.
