Private messaging is available only to paid members. Many (not all) members allow messages to be posted on their profiles... however those are not private, and can be read by anybody that looks.

Slight correction to this.

Profile Messages are semi private. Bladeforum members can view them, yet people that are browsing Bladeforums as guest (or members not logged in) don't have access to profile pages and hence, can't see the messages.

If you need to put an email or private info in a profile message you can always edit it out later after contact has been made.
