O.K. so I'm not computer savy enought figure out how to just edit the title of the thread to say WINNER. So I'll just start a new thread with a link to the original: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...-own-personal-modded-14-giveaway-who-wants-in

Before I reveal the winner, I want to thank everyone who participated. A lot of cool ideas that I would like to do. But as the contest says, there can be only one. But here are some ones that get some cudos for being what I think are great ideas. And a couple of them in particular came very close to winning.

Mywifethinksimcrazy: I thought the idea of leaving it stock and just making the handles bigger like so many of you said was cool. Maybe then Ethan could hold it in his hand and see how it would make a great knife even better. but in the end, I think you all wanted to see something a little more challenging...so sorry Nick!

Hughewil: loved the striker knife idea. just didnt think there was enough there to work with without making the handle smaller than it already was.

Drgnclwk: I liked your Idea of the cut down fingergrooved handle.........just not enough.

L4ne4: The mini M-18 was cool. but I really dont want to turn Ethans knife into my knife. Respect Ethan to much to do that.

Rougebowie: Loved the green handled bushcrafter. That looked like something I might be interested in doing down the road depending on what my schedule does.

Warrior: All of your stuff was cool. especially your photoshoping skills. but that my of been what killed ya. They all looked so good you dont need me to see how they turn out.

Galeocerdoshark: Your Idea was the very close second. I didnt want to go to all of the trouble of making a fully functional folder, but the friction folder as I call them I thought was genious. That was really the kind of stuff I was looking for. You where sooooo close.

cOLD: the butterfly knife would be really cool. another one that I may tackle down the road

Again, thank you all for playing!.........and now I'll shut up and anounce the Winner...........

Hunter sharp!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congradulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved your idea of the hollow handled/hobo fishing kit Idea. Its the exact crazy off the wall kinda crap I was looking for. I dont know if it was because It reminded me of the old junky pieces of sh!t we all had as kids or what. but who cares. You won! I will be in touch with you soon to give and get some ideas. and in the meantime. Thanks again for playing guys! and be sure to congradulate Mr. Hunter sharp. When I start on it I plan on doing a how I did it thread if you guys think you would be interested in seeing that? give my your thoughts! Peace!!!!!!!!

Awesome contest Todd! Seeing all the ideas gave me some ideas that I may attempt myself. Not that I have the skills to do the off-the-wall stuff, but some of the more subtle mods maybe.

Congrats Hunter Sharp. This will be a fun one to watch. I agree, it really does remind me of the junk I bought when I was young. Makes me laugh when a kid shows me their new "survival knife" they picked up at a flee market or Harbor Freight and all I can think is, "the learning process starts here".

Congrats HS. Great Contest TMH. I recently saw a IzTurley vid on his YT channel where he makes a hollow handled knife then proceeds to beat the crap out of it to show not all knives like that are junk.

Haters gonna hate. :D

Congrats Hunter Sharp, it's a cool GAW. Thanks for the chance Theodore!

WOO!
can't wait to see it!

Holly sh*t! I didn't expect this! Thank you soooo much TM! This just made my day. It was really fun and you guys all had some great ideas. Thanks again!

Post up some process pictures if ya have the time/will. Can't wait to see how this comes together.

Way to go HS!
Thanks for the chance Tito! Very generous.
I'd definately be interested in a WIP thread.

It's funny! I was trying to think of an idea that was both challenging and different and boom, it hit me! I remembered the crapy Rambo knock off knife I had when I was twelve. The Santa Ana river bottom is just a stones throw away from my childhood home, I spent lots of my time down there with that knife along with many other crapy blades lol the question now is... Do we put a compas in the handle cap? :D

Thanks again TM for the chance! I thought it was a really great contest, and I loved seeing other people's ideas!
Fun to know I came in close, but congratz to the winner!

Congrats Hunter! TM, great idea for a contest, have you put any thought into taking some pics and having a thread here as it gets made? It'd be cool to see the process you go through making it.

Erik

Yeah! If you guys are interested in seeing the process then hell yeah. I'll show the WIP. Just remember it may take a while. My goal (and I havnt contacted Huntersharp about it yet) but the plan is to complete it by the spring gathering so all of the Beckerheads in attendence can have a opprotunity to get there greasy mitts all over it before I send it to our victor! So just keep in mind, it may be a thread that drags out.

I am glad you won HS, because I live close enough to you to go visit and see your prize when it arrives :D

When one of us gets our hands on a pistol (I saw you sold yours) we still need to hit the range too.

Thanks for the chance Hunt! Glad you liked my idea, if you are interested in doing it down the road let me know and I will buy it from you!!!

Nice GAW. Congrats Hunter Sharp.

Out of curiousity.....whose ideas were close runner-ups? If any.

Well class, SOMEBODY didn't do there homework. tdhurl1103 go back up to the top of the page and read my opening statement. I tell all the ones that I liked best and name the second place. There wasn't any of them that I thought was a bad idea. Just like some better than others.
