Dear Mr. Strider,

I have been wanting to get my friend a gift before he is shipped out to Afganistan.. I was thinking a Strider.. He has been wanting one n all. Then I saw their prices..

So.. I was wondering if u could help me Acquire one at a discounted price.. My friend could really use it.. He is Marine Recon and God only know's what they are up to over their in Afganistan. I have about 200 saved up n was look to get him the best knife i could.

Or maybe could u do something custom to one for it.. Im trying to make this as special as possible.. Maybe put Semper Fi on the blade or something?

I know you are a very busy man and all.. but I just wanted to see what you could do for me.. If anything.

Why don't you give your friends name. I'm curious what Force Recon unit he is in. Because one there are no Force Recon units leaving soon and two there are no Force Recon units currently opperating in Afgahanistan. So my advice to you is to keep saving up for the full price of the knife or come up with a better story. I'm not speaking for Strider, but I would venture to say they are not in the business of helping some kid who wants a knife cheaper. Have your "Force Recon" friend order a knife they offer 20% off for all active duty military. Again I'm curious your friends name and unit or is it Top Secret? If this post has offended you in any way please give me a call I'm sure we can work it out

Why do I have the sensation that this is a story just to get a knife at a discount price? SuBZeRo, seriously, if you made this story up to get a discount then that's low....I apologize if you really do have a friend shipping out but if you don't, then just pay up kid, don't screw around. The people at Strider weren't born yesterday.
 
Yes I really do have a friend who is in Recon.. His name is Robert Wold. He helped me through some hard times. I dont really like how u think im lying. That isnt very respectable.....

Well ok here's the deal, don't post stuff like this on a public forum where the public can read if you don't want comments like this. Dwayne and Mick have an e-mail address where you could reach them personally. And the reason alarms go off here is because this kind of trick ain't new, ok? So take it up with them and sorry for offending you, but next time, to limit the whole BS detector from shooting into the sky, do this business privately. They give discounts to the military, but I don't think they'd go on a basis like this, sorry kid if I sound mean but that's how it is. Vinnie has some Striders in stock so just ask.

I really could care less if I pissed you off. I'm a Force Recon Marine and your buddy who says he is in Recon is not shipping to Afgahnistan. How do I know this? Because I know when and where units are going that's how. And if you read the paper or watch the news Marines are not in Afgahnistan anymore. Again I would like to know what Force Recon unit your buddy is with. That name does not ring a bell from the West Coast. And he sure as hell aint from the East coast.
Again if you want a discount on a knife tell your friend to place the order 20% off for active duty enlisted. I still think you are full of sh*t or your friend is feeding you a line about being in Force Recon and deploying to Afgahnistan.
 
Did I say Force Recon... I SAID RECON! He is based at Pendleton right now. I think he is doing Pre-Dive.
By the way... Robert Wold is quite possibly the Youngest Marine to Graduate ARS training. Im hoping to beat that..

Personally I'd love the chance to fight u, It would be fun.. N if i won u could say "Yup, Im a Force Recon that got his @ss kicked by a 16 yearold Wanna Be" And WHEN U beat me u can say "I kick a 16 yearolds @ss" Then everyone can think ur a meanie :)

Seems his thoughts are in the right place .What gets me is that he doesn't e-mail strider , but comes to the Strider Forum instead.
 
I'm done dealing with the kid. You did say Force Recon. He very well may be at 1st Recon Bn. But he is not deploying to Afgahnistan just to clearify that. If this kid helped you out through hard times than good on him.
In the future you should think about the poor taste you showed by coming into a public forum and beggin for a discount on a knife. Also know this that even if the Strider Guys were to consider this you would have to come up with some credentials to prove your story. Sorry word of mouth (interenet) will get you no where.
As far as fighting me. YOU REALLY NEED TO GROW UP.

Please do not waste anymore of my time.

Also, just because you started out on the 'wrong foot' doesn't mean much...I too started out on the wrong foot.

So, relax, take a deep breath, pick your fights carefully, and try to learn something positive about knives while you're here...if you do, you'll do fine.

If you don't, you'll get banned...and we'll all lose out on the positive contributions that you 'could have' made...

Are you with me on this?
