Anybody know where to get a replacement carbon block for a personalizer etcher?

Or if I could drill the old one out and fix it?

The problem is the contacts have coroded away and broken off.

Thanks

I'm not intimately familiar with the Personalizer, but any basic hand pad should work. I'm using this one from LectroEtch. Many other people have made their own.

Thanks, what's the difference between deep etch and shallow etch as far as the blocks go?

Marking methods wanted 27.50$ for a etch pad, but required a 75$ minimum order.

For those that made there own, how did you attach the wire to the carbon block?

I'm thinking I can drill out the corroded mess and just solder or press fit a brass rod in the hole and solder the contact wire to it.

Yes, all you need is an electrical connection between the wire from the etcher to the annode(?)/cathode(?) portion of the etch pad. Repairing the circuit connection should solve your problem.
