I thought it would be fun/interesting to see some personally customized Bucks...I'm certainly not an expert but I enjoy fiddling around...post some pics of your work.

Very nice job AJR! I especially like the textured bolsters. You just inspired me to work on my new Jumbo trapper when it gets here. I was going for bone handles to have a better grip but ended up with smooth Colobolo..

Thank you. The finger groove was made with a drum sander chucked in a drill press, the jimping with a hand checkering file.

Thanks. I bobbed the spur off the hammer and bought the file to finish the hammer. It’s a copy of an optional hammer available for a Ruger Speed six.

You start the hammer back with the trigger then you can use your thumb to cock it.

Once the hammer was done I realized the files potential to add thumb grooves on knives.

I have a lot of time invested in this one. It was as rough as a corduroy road when I got it, so I got rid of the coarse vertical lines, now it has fine horizontal lines. Lol. I stopped short of full polish, but at least it’s smooth.

It also had a wicked recurve. Which I can’t tolerate.

I chamfered the thong hole so I could have a lanyard but not have the knot digging into my palm. Then a small single finger groove.

I mirror polished the blade of this B&C knife.

This is a Federal knife on top and a 110 that I "thinned" below.

This is a BCCI 112 and to the right is a 112 which I also "thinned".

Here are two 116's,the one on the left I modified to be able to carry as a necker

The two below I re-profiled the D/P blades to a more pleasing shape.

I was really surprised too it was only a few file strokes deep. It’s definitely the width of the tang. Good to know they aren’t all like that.
