I have a mint condition Peter Carey Rubicon XL liner lock folder with carbon fiber handle scales, twist damascus bolsters, and a handrubbed CPM 154 swedged recurve blade for sale. Peter is one of the brightest rising stars among knifemakers, and he builds some of the best constructed and toughest custom folders available today. This Rubicon XL is no exception, with fit and finish that compare favorably to that of any other top-end custom tactical folder maker out there.
The Rubicon XL listed here has never been carried, used, or resharpened, and its original edge from Peter is very sharp. The opening action is very smooth, and the knife opens easily with a good flick of the thumb. I uploaded a video here to demonstrate the action. The lock-up is rock solid, and the blade centering is just about dead perfect.
***TRADED***
The specs:
Condition: Mint
Blade length: 3 3/4" from tip to bolster
Overall length: 9 1/8"
Blade thickness: Just under 5/32" at ricasso
Blade steel: CPM 154
Blade finish: Handrubbed
Edge: Plain
Bolsters: Twist damascus, etched
Handle scale material: Black carbon fiber, polished
Lock: Titanium liner lock, engine turned and anodized green
Backspacer: 3 stand-offs, polished and anodized green
Clip: Tip up, titanium, satin finished and anodized green
For payment on this piece, I can take USPS money orders and PayPal (add 3% in the US to cover most of the fees, 4% outside of the US). I can also take a personal check if I know you. If you are paying by PayPal, the payment has to be sent with a PayPal-confirmed address (including the green "confirmed" marker) listed in the invoice, and I will only ship to that PayPal-confirmed address. I reserve the right to wait for payments to clear before I ship.
I will consider trades (with appropriate cash adjustment) for custom folders and certain custom balis. I am especially interested in the following makers:
JL Williams
Charles Marlowe
Tim Galyean
Deryk Munroe
Jim Smyth
Kit Carson
Jim Burke
Gerry McGinnis
DB Fraley
Bob Lum
Mike Snody
Sal Manaro
Scott Cook
Ernie Emerson
Rick Hinderer
Matt Cucchiara
Todd Begg
Tom Mayo
Neil Blackwood
Ken Onion
Phil Boguszewski
Flavio Ikoma
I may consider trades for other custom folders or balis not listed above. However, I am not interested in serrated blades, production knives, or fixed blades other than those by John Young or Russ Andrews.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks for looking!
