Just picked one up off of ebay. Plain edge, almite handles. Kind of cheap if I remember seeing them around when you did at least. I have always wanted one just cause I like the look of the overall design. Kind of gentlemanly or Sunday go to meetin type of knife. This one is VG10 and not the ATS5, but it has a plain edge and not the pse. So how'd I do for less than 80 bucks?
Oh yea no box or papers but hey it is unused and umarked. keepem sharp
 
Since you like the looks of the Herbst, assuming you intend to use it, you did fine. Not a steal, but you didn't pay top dollar either.
 
I was fortunate to get one of the originals in oh, I guess it was 97 or 98, and mine was absolutely flawless despite production being halted due to QC issues.

Too bad, because that model still ranks as one of my all time favorite Spydercos.

Then like a dummy I sold it at some point....:rolleyes:

The 2nd generation is ok, not bad for what you picked it up for, but never did it for me like the original.
