Oh I mean, and I could point you to my 15 year old account on CalGuns.net (a popular CA gun forum) where under this same screen name I had dozens of sales with 100% rating on their iTrader marketplace system, unfortunately they migrated the forum last year and it screwed up the software but all my old posts would be there, though you'd have to sort through almost 5,000 posts I have throughout the site.
But that's not really the point. I didn't mean for it to cause any offense, yeah I just joined actually due to another knife but it was a similar situation. And I have a ton of knives (more "mid to high end production" variety in say the $200-800 range that I'd eventually like to sell, and it's gonna be the same sort of situation: having to build trust with potential buyers. I've obviously taken leaps of faith with people in the past, but for say, a $200 item or so when they are relatively unknown. Mostly on Reddit or CalGuns. But $900 is a lot to risk, and I don't know you from Adam as the expression goes. You're probably perfectly trustworthy; I know that I am. But you are likely in the exact same position as me but reversed; and that's why I was lamenting the lack of some sort of escrow system. Because I got the cash and I want that knife; if you lived anywhere in NorCal around the Bay area (Im on the central coast as my name suggests) I would drive to meet you in person, which is my favored way of doing Internet deals (might have mentioned elsewhere have done very expensive trades in police station lobbies even, which they are happy to accomodate). It's just the unfortunate reality of what shady a**holes have done to the private party selling market, I don't mean to offend you personally. I'd ask anyone without at least say, 20 positive sales reviews from other verifiable members to use PPG&S too, and even that is no guarantee. I've gone as far as filming myself tape up a box in the post office before mailing, and on the other end having the employee hand me the parcel on camera and open it immediately, just for some minor degree of "chain of custody," it's how paranoid getting ripped off or sent fakes/ clones has made me. Nothing personal buddy, truly. It honestly makes my gears turn as go how to monitor,e this, create a company out of it. Because there is DEFINITELY a huge demand for it, across so many platforms.
