I'm from Thailand and I plan to send some CPM-3V/Elmax about 15 blades to the service.

I have Emailed them but still got no response so it would be better to ask here since I'm sure there are many people here who have experience :o

The questions are

1. Do they accept PayPal or Western union?

2. What is the cost of their HT per blade for Elmax and CPM-3V? I want the aim hardness to be 61hrc for 3V and 62hrc for Elmax.

3. Is there have any additional charge for cryogenic or 2nd tempering?

They were probably off this weekend (Easter Sunday weekend), so I would wait to hear from them to see what they say. I don't know the answers to your questions, but they will get back to you. They are a good company to do business with & are an excellent heat treat service.

I can't answer all your questions, but for between 4-20 blades it's a set flat fee of around $110. There's no additional charge for cryo that I'm aware of.

25 bucks a blade up to 4 blades then it is 110 for all of them up to like 15. And they don't charge for cryo. They are great to work with. Talk to brad

Out of country emails have a tendency to get "Spam filtered". If you sent it from "@yahoo.com.th" or something, it could have been filtered.

Peters changed their billing set up a couple years ago (If i recall correctly), and require a credit card on file.

I just had a batch done by Peter's and they quoted me $27.50 each up to 4, then from 5 to 20 a flat rate of $110 and $2.50 each after the first 20. They must all be the same material, cryo is included. You will also be billed for the return shipping and insurance costs. They require you have a credit card on file for payment.

If you have two different steels that can be austenized at the same temp, say like 3V and AEB-L, it counts as one load as they do not charge for having to temper at different temps, at least last time that I sent them a batch of 11 3V bales and 8 of AEB-L . That may not help with the Elmax. The good news is that Peters has the data to do the low temperature temper on 3V.

You are absolutely right, I should not of said "same material" as you an mix it up if the process is the same for both.

I have to add that they do fantastic work. I've sent blades in that were so thin I was sure they would come back looking like a piece of bacon, but they come back straight as an arrow and you can make them scary sharp. Many :thumbup:for Peters Heat Treat!

They had a price increase April 2016. $28.50/blade up to three. $114/for a lot of four to twenty.
