Hello folks,
I have a question. Do you think Pete's Custom knife Shoppe is a good thing? Right no it is in need of repair. I know a lot of you have used it in the past or would, if changes were made.
I would like to show the responses to this thread to Chuck and Cj Buck. It could help the process along if they knew how you felt.
I would sure appreciate any comments.

Thanks!

Yes, it's a good thing, and don't let it go
away until I've saved enough for the three I
want to buy!

I would definitely like to see it expanded to
other models also. At least to include the
Ranger.

Peace,

Al F.

Yes it is a good thing for those who want and can afford a custom knive. Would like to see it expand to other models.

I feel a need to chime in here. After buying 2 knives from pete's, I keep going back to see if there's anything new to be had but there never is. Just don't know how many 110's I can justify buying but maybe something different..... now you've got my attention!

Joe, Here's to show I don't hold a grudge, lol. Pete's is a GREAT asset to us AND definitely NEEDS to be expanded! I want a Ranger to match my Folding Hunter! I think I'll hold off ordering until we get the first mess cleared up, lol again. Also, a Vanguard in BG-42 sure would be nice. Nicer still, a Vanguard in BG-42 sitting in my pistol safe next to a BG-42 Woodsman. Both with matching walnut handles and brightly polished silver Dural accoutrements, mind you. Food for thought.

Now, WHERE'S MY KNIFE????

I haven't broke down and used Pete's since I've got a couple Master Series to tide me over. I frequently recommend Pete's to people looking for a serious folding hunting knife. Keep it going.

Could you offer a couple more options? I was thinking that a light weight variant would be good. Basically a 110 with titanium liner and bolsters. Maybe make it 20% thinner.

Hi Joe,

I've only got five 110s from Pete's so far and am far from being done ordering different ones. I think it's a great thing to be able to make up your own knife at a reasonable cost.

Hi Joe
I've only used the custom shop once so far. But it was a great experience and chance to get a somewhat unique knife. I would really love to see it expanded to the 500 series. How about if I say Please

As far as the site goes. It takes quite a while for it to load for me. It would be nice to have a option where one could see just text and buttons for choosing of parts and getting the total.

Keep Pete's custom shoppe! It definately serves a need.

I too think Pete's Custom Knife Shop is a great thing. So far I have purchased three and I'm looking forward to number four. I believe that is the direction many knife companies will be heading in the future. It's hard to beat a custom knife at a production price.

The web page states "Come back often, as special limited-time materials are offered periodically."…So, how about it? Some additional materials would be nice. Maybe some micarta or curly maple. How about a 110 with construction similar to the carbon fiber Odyssey? Give it stainless liners, carbon fiber slabs, and the handle shape of the old titanium 560. This would make a great knife for standard production as well as for PCKS.

I would like to see the addition of a fixed blade. The Vanguard would be a good candidate, IMO.

…just my two cents.

I love the site and order often from it for the hubby.

Each and every piece we have ever gotten from Pete's was great. Its only glitch I see is the legnth of time it takes to recieve the knife once it is ordered. But even with that its well worth the wait. Especially for those of us who collect 110's.

I have ordered from Pete's before, and plan to do so again. I'd like to see it expand to include examples from the 500 series. The Vanguard would also be a welcome addition.

Thanks for asking,
Hawk

Joe, I agree with what most are saying (have to admit that I haven't read the entire thread yet). But I ESPECIALLY agree with what Tony says above!

So much so that I said it twice! Sorry about that.

Joe,
I think that Pete's Custom Knife Shop is great. I would like to see it expanded to include some other models. Maybe a fix blade and some smaller folders. I would love to order something from Pete's as a small dress up folder. Maybe you can add something from the Slimline series? They seem to be the perfect candidate for a custom small dress up folder. I hope to see Pete's shop include other models. Perhaps change models out every 6 months?

Yes, please don't fold the Custom Shop!! I've got one on order as we speak. I've also been asking for more model options since it's inception, though I'd opt for the Mentor as my first fixed blade choice. I love the blade shape and would love one in premium steel with nice pinned on scales. All the other guys have good ideas as well, please consider it. BTW, if it would be easier and facilitate adding model options, I'd be willing to dispense with the picture of the knife changing as you add different options. Not that I dislike that feature, but I'd guess that that feature is one aspect that makes it more cost intensive for Buck to add more model options. Just my .02
Thanks for asking though!

I cast my vote for keeping Pete's Custom Shop. However, I too, would like to see it expanded to include more models. There should certainly be a good market for a wider line of knives coming out of the shop.
Just my opionion, and not eligible for recount!

IMO, Pete's Custom Shop is pretty cool. Wish more sites had something like this. I've only ordered from it once, and it did take a while to get my 110, but it was well worth it.

The thing is, with me anyway, is that it hasn't changed. A few more models added, plus new handle materials like carbon fiber, or sheephorn, for example would add to what is already a sound concept.
