Pete's Custom Knife Shoppe

I think the custom shop is a major coup for Buck and I wholeheartedly support it. I have the most beautiful Buck 110 with asian water buffalo scales. I love it. The scales are getting this beautiful green patina on them. The knife is engraved for me. Talk about a one of a kind!

Thanks Mr. Buck for running such a great business.

Hi Joe
I have never bought a knife from Pete`s, but I have received a #110 as a gift that was customized at Pete`s. I agree with the other members, you chould use a bigger selection.
Talk to you latter, Gerry

Definitely keep it. It's a great idea and I wish there were more things like it. I would suggest a few changes though.

It loads very slowly. An easy way to fix this may be to choose all of the options and click to see a picture.

Offer more models than just the 110. I'd love to see Buck's full line up exposed to these types of options. And add thumbstuds and pocket clips to the options.

If the shop is not selling as many knives as you like, it's not because it's not a good idea, it's because other models are not available, and lack of advertising. I think I found it once when surfing though Buck's website, but I had never heard of it before then. Advertise more, offer more models & options, and you will sell more knives.

And if you can bring back Ti it will sell well.

I like the concept and would order regularly if there were more models available - I want to pipe up here for the 532, a truly fine design that I personally would collect madly were more variations available. Pete's is the way to offer just that. The semi-legendary 532 in BG42 & desert ironwood (rumours haunted the forum about this creature last year) would be my first choice!

Welcome to the forums!

Never had a problem accessing the site (though it is slow), just had a problem getting the $$ to buy what I want...

Not that I wouldn't mind more options, especially a fixed blade (Vanguard, Big Sky?)
One thought I had was to offer more sheath options (

to Joe), other leathers, etc.

Peace,

one of my first projects for 2001 is stag, with either ats 34 or damascus. but put me in for a 532 and a 501.

thanks, guy

I just ordered my first 110 from Pete's. I'm new to knife collecting, but I have a few 110's and 112's already. I think they are beautiful knives. I hope to get more from the custom shoppe, so I hope you don't do away with it. I haven't heard anyone suggest a custom automatic 110 be made available from Pete's. Any chance of that happening?

i think pete's is great. I really like when companies do this kind of thing. Gerber did it for their multi-pliers.

The only thing I would like to see is possibly more available models to choose from, OR at the very LEAST new handle materials...I'd really like a 110 with curly maple handles and nickel silver bolsters.

Pete's is great! Let's keep it--expand it to other models and options. Without it, there would be very little variety for the 110 collectors...and we all know what is said about "variety".

Take it easy.

Happy 2001 everybody!!

one thing I was thinking of, is that it would be neat if we could order different blade patterns for the old standby models.
anyone for a 110 with a drop point blade?
