Since I can't tell from the pics, I'll just ask. Does the blade spine on a damascus blade normally come polished or unpolished? I ask because mine was not. However, I have an ionfusion (as well as polished BG-2) blades from PCKS that are polished when stock ionfusion blades are not.

Hi Jeff,
On both my damascus 110 from Pete's and a damascus bladed 110 from the early 90's the spines have a satin finish. I believe Buck wanted to keep the damascus blades nicely squared off to show as much of the pattern as possible. My damascus bladed 500 Duke is the same.
 
I should have a couple pics next week. The package left Buck yesterday. My stag handled 110 now has an engraved blade, and my 560 is now BG-42 equipped. :D
 
Woohoo!!! I got back from the Adirondacks today, to find a package in the mailbox. :D

The first pic is of my stag handled 110, now with the blade engraved. It's hard to capture in a photograph, but it says, "The Angry Beaver". The second pic is my Buck 560, but now with a BG-42 blade ala' Pete. :)

Now I have to decide which knife to carry first!!! :confused:
 
I thought I'd share too..sorry the only one from Pete's is the 110FG in BG42

The top 110 is scaled in purpleheart and as thin as my 560. The file work on it's backspring is beautiful, if my scanner would do it justice I would post a pic. The 532 is the knife I carry most these days.
