Petty WIP

I figured i would do a WIP on making a petty. Steel is .072 15N20 and i am undecided on handle materials, few included in the pic for consideration. It is 150mm on edge length and handle will come in somewhere around 125-130mm.

I will get some more wood together and figure out what i want to use.

Thanks. i will get this HT today and start shaping it tonight. maybe decide on a handle layout also lol.

Yes Sam, i grind after HT...speaking of which, HT is done It is tempering right now. Shooting for 61-62. Now i need to figure out a handle...

Have you considered a stacked handle? I used to do that... and am in a mood to do it again soon. I think smaller knives look good with stacked handles.

Ok finally got to grinding this one. Have it rough ground at 50 grit, about to go out to the shop and get it up to 800.

Need to get in a little more distal taper, but it is sitting at .068 at the heel right now, more to come later
