PFD based Kits

The gerber rescue knife is a hell of a rope cutter. Its a folder but for around $25-$35 it's a pretty good deal.
 
I do carry a small pouch, just a max cocoon pouch, its on the left side. Works well, just a basic kit, covers:

Fire
Shelter
Water
Navagation
Signaling
