PH2 a DU knife?

I emailed Mr Gardner and Mr Hufnagel about these knives, and they said since they're a completely different company, they'd rather not discuss anything to do with Schrade products. After all the legal wrangling and heckling they must have gone through I can't say as I blame them. They're probably not even allowed to mention the name. I'll say one thing for them, they actually took the time out to immediately reply to my question and to thank me for my support of CS personally. I REALLY like that company!
Eric

That is the reason I had not contacted them directly. And though most of the former employees aren't under the scrutiny and "legal hammer" of the new owner of the I.P., they don't want to attract any public notice either. CSC started out under the cloud of a threat over their use of a name they had selected for their new company. Canal Street Cutlery was a second choice. The history of this is archived here if you want to read it, but please don't post to it.

PS - I did find a hint today...a sample order for a pair of blue jigged bone PH2's dated circa July 2002. It was not for Lowe's.

Damn, I hope I haven't said anything to get these guys in trouble! This friggin lawsuit happy environment we live in is a real pain. No mention on the order who the recipient was?
Eric

No Eric, I'm sure they get inquirys all the time. No harm done, no foul. You might ask around and find a former production employee or supervisor though. If these were made in any quantity at all, they must remember seeing them.

Yes, the order names the customer. The same customer (an industrial supply company) had ordered a variety of promo knives beginning in the early nineties. They were usually upscale, such as an order for jigged amber bone. These particular samples had a LTD tangstamp, SPECIAL EDITION shield. Not all proto/samples were accepted by the intended customers, and accepted or not, they went back to the sample room files to be shown future clients. WHat I'm saying is that while a proto/sample order gives us a hint, it does not indicate who the eventual customer was for the jigged blue bone knives. It just gives a "date of origin" (summer 2002) for the proto design, and a "customer possibility".

I had a DU PH2 and it had wood scales. I don't remember what kind but it looked like chesnut. It was years ago but I saw them for sale by Cabelas until about 3 years ago. It came ina DU box with all kinds of DU stuff.
