I have a Phil Jacob Lanny’s Clip Slipjoint, OD green micarta scales, stainless steel bolsters, liner & back spring. A 4” clip point (obviously) blade made of CPM154 steel and hand rubbed satin finish.

I am not a traditional knife guy at all but I acquired this piece fairly recently. I haven’t done much but show it to people so they can gawk at it. It’s huge, almost comical for a slipjoint, slightly over 5” handle and a 4” blade, I posted some pictures of it next to other common knives for comparison. Not an incredible amount is known about the history, I am at least the third owner, the previous owner to myself is not into knives at all and somehow acquired this piece. Neither of us carried it or used it for anything. Phil Jacob was contacted and his response was: “I can’t speak for the current condition of the knife now, but i can send you photos of the knife when i built it. It does have recessed doom pins on the liners except for the center spring pin. Let me know if you want my original build photos."

It is in very good condition; the blemishes I can find are a couple scratches on the back spring/liner near the center, some faint wear marks/scratches on the back spring where it meets the bolster, some scratches on the decorative metal inlay shield in the handle and a small scratch near the tip of the blade. Likely from handling, maybe carrying, jostling around in storage, batoning concrete pillars, the usual stuff. Overall, it’s what I would consider typical for a piece that isn’t brand new.

The blade centering is off a tiny bit to the .. non-show side (?) but no where near rubbing. The blade is in excellent condition, edge is original and sharp. I don’t know how to rate the opening/pull on this as I have no perspective. The first pull to the halfstop is a 5 I guess, from the halfstop to open is 8-9, then it snaps open with some authority. The spring is fairly strong and I would actually feel fairly comfortable using this without being nervous about losing fingers.

Phil Jacob was awarded Blade show 2017 ‘best new maker’ and I can see why. It’s a very nice custom slipjoint and I can appreciate the high-quality fit/finish of his work. In the end I’m an uncultured swine that has no business with a gentlemanly custom Lanny’s clip slip, so it needs to find a home with someone who will truly appreciate it.

The knife comes with the lanyard/bead seen in some of the pics. Only knife and lanyard are included in sale. The maker is available for contact if there are any questions, I don’t think the knife ever had any type of paperwork. All I have is this big ole knife.

Asking: $310

Not looking for anything specifically, I would like a Mantra 1. Cash is king, cash + knife is good.

PP G&S, shipped CONUS TYD. Will ship international, but buyer pays the difference in shipping costs and owner is not responsible for any customs/shipping issues at border or out of country.
