Hey guys, I thought I would share a beauty that just came to me today. Phil's knives have long been on my want list. Phil is a great craftsmen and I consider him among the greats. It took some time to get ahold of one Phil pieces. He is great guy to deal with. The model I decided to ask about was his Bird and Trout model. I have long been in love with the Bird and Trout design for quite sometime. It varies from maker to maker, but generally keeps some similar aspects. It is neat to see others interpretations of it.

Enough of my talking I will list what specs I have below, and let my terrible pictures do the rest of the talking.

Specs:
4 1/2" Handle
4" Cutting edge
Thickness behind the edge: 0.007 inches thick
Stock thickness: 0.09" thick.
Steel: CPM154
Handle: Full Tang with Black Micarta handles.

Poor attempt to show leanness, (I'm working with a cell camera :o)

Taper/contouring of handle

 Thank you for sharing. I am looking forward to receiving a similarly thin knife later this week.

Did you find this knife second-hand or purchase direct from Mr.Wilson?

You are quite welcome, my pleasure. I did purchase this directly from Mr. Wilson.

Nice photos Steel. It looks to be canvas micarta. Mr. Wilson is a legend in custom knife making. A great knife. DM

Awesome blade. I've always been a sucker for the canvas micarta as well.

I really hope that Spyderco comes through with a B&T collab. I Imagine Mr. Wilson's book is pretty full.

Beautiful knife. Thanks for showing it. When I first saw your thread title, I was unrealistically hoping it was in the "for sale" sub-forum. Ha! Wishful thinking. I think I'm on Phil's long list. Thanks again for the photos. Such a fine knife. Mike

Haha. His is the only work I personally haven't seen on the secondary market. You are quite welcome for the pictures, and believe me the wait is worth it :).

I too really hope that collab works out. I think Micarta is my favorite handle material. I really like G-10 too, but something about micarta...

Do you mind if I jump on and share a photo? As fate would have it I received a bird & trout from Mr. Wilson in the last few weeks as well, mine with an ironwood handle.
