It's a classy knife and the ball lock works smooth as glass. I really like this one.

That is very nice...... Could I trouble you to post a pic with a Police or Salt for size comparison?

Thanks.....Steven

How about this for now? Josh K just asked me for the Military and Para and I've just wiped them down and put them up.

That Pheonix is great looking. It looks much more appealing in your photos than the catalogue gives credit for.

It's a nice knife, but like too many Spydercos, there's too much choil/ricasso space. That's so much wasted cutting edge; it looks like the Phoenix is missing 20% of its potential cutting edge.

I find the choil very useful and prefer it to knives without the choil. It allows a lot finer control over the blade and what you're cutting.

Jill, excellent photo! I was wondering if it was a bigger knife or a smaller one, and judging by the comparison, it looks like a smaller one. Might have to pick one up. Thanks! :)

I always thought the $300 was way too much, until i read that the handle was Ti. That may be something to add to my collection.

$300's MSRP. Tom (spydercovt.com) will be able to give you an excellent dealer price, and as Jill pointed out, auctions are a great place to find deals if you're patient with them.

I like the BBL alot. I'd not hesitate to pick up a Phoenix for the right price.
Great photos Jill. Thx. :)

Beautiful design (I'm a BIG fan of the Ball-Bearing Lock); however, poorly engineered/executed due to Spyderco's failure to drill "offside" holes thereby allowing South Paw/ambidextrous carry. Considering the amount of money I spend annually on knives (well over $1K), I remain utterly amazed as to why Spyderco (Sal) doesn't implement a engineering REQUIREMENT THAT ALL ITS KNIVES afford such a feature. In short, had Spyderco expended the minimal cost in doing so (how much does it really cost to drill 3 or 4 holes?), I would have bought/it would have sold another one. In the meantime, on behalf of ALL Southpaws, I'll BOTH make do with my D'Allara AND continue holding my breath. Sal?

I'd rather see some of all models offered in left handed versions. I wouldn't like having holes in both sides of the handle of a knife like the Phoenix.

Spyderco's failure? I'm sorry, but I don't see any "failing" in offering a knife in only one type of carry. The knife is made to work with only tip down, right hand carry. You can still carry in on the left, or you can drill/tap it yourself.

Feature? I love ambi knives myself, but honestly it's a design process and sometimes it doesn't work out. Figures put left handed people at less then 10% of the population. I'm not saying that they should be disregarded, but I mean Strider/CRK also make the vast majority of their models right hand only, and I don't see many people complain about them.

I would much rather that dedicated left hand versions (Military being one) were offered instead of compromising. Particularly the curved clip. It needs to stay.
