Time for a giveaway! This will not be a simple randomly selected winner, however. This giveaway will be awarded based on pictures submitted by the entrants.

The rules:
1. To enter, post a picture you took of a traditional knife to this thread. Picture must include a traditional knife. Background and other subject matter is up to you.

2. You can enter as many times as you like, but you may only submit 1 picture per post.

3. Please be a contributing member of the porch with at least 25 prior posts to the traditional forum.

4. The winner will be determined by the number of reactions ("likes," "loves," etc.) your picture receives. In the event of a tie, the number of “loves” will break the tie, followed by “wows.”

5. You may submit an entry and designate another member to receive the prize. Just name the member you wish to proxy for in your post.


The contest will run for 1 week until Saturday, April 8. After that, I will close the thread and tally up the reactions.

The prize: A NIT GEC 392222 in pioneer bone.

I want to thank everyone who participated in this Giveaway. There were some outstanding submissions, some of which look like they belong in an art show. Also inspiring was the number of entrants who submitted photos as a proxy for others. The generosity of the porch is always great to see.

I would like to give an “honorable mention” to @Heathenhymnal. Several fantastic submissions, all with great lighting, sharpness, color and balance. Just great photos to look at.

Clever way of judging the contest.
 
One additional rule has been added. Since we have so many members who will not enter a Giveaway for their own benefit, you may enter this giveaway and designate another member to receive the prize. Please name the member you wish to proxy for in your submission.

I do have one clarifying question about rule number 4…

Does the number of “likes,” which determines the winner, only include the “Like” reaction, or does it also include the “loves,” “wows,” etc.? For example, if Person A had a post with 20 Likes, 1 Love and 1 Wow (22 total reactions), and Person B had a post with 19 Likes, 9 Loves and 7 Wows (35 total reactions, but less “Likes”), who is the winner? Just curious. :thumbsup:
 
I didn’t end up picking up a #39 (other than the BF Bunny Knife), so I’m in. As I was looking through some photos, this one stood out to me, I think because it feels like summer, and we got like 8 inches of snow last night, and I’m really looking forward to summer. :cool:

Good question and a bad explanation on my point. Winner will be based on most total reactions instead of likes. Ties broken as stated previously. I'll update the original post to clarify. Thank you for the question.
