Hi everyone,

I've read a lot about Esee 4, and on quite a few places was mentioned that the handle is shorter and thinner.
I'm not sure how much exactly, and I'm unable to check this in person.

Can someone please post one overall and one handle thickness photos against a Spyderco PM2?

Thanks a lot!

That's an odd comparison...
I'd help you out; but my camera batteries are dead

I know! Comparison with a Mora would work as well, but thickness-wise PM is also a bit "boxy" so guess it will be easier to get a feel for 4's handle.
Thanks anyway; if you can/remember to do it later, it would still help.

I think OP likes PM2 size handle so he wants to see if Esee 4 is larger/smaller

Hope these over-sized phone pics help :D

Dang, having never handled an ESEE4 before, but hearing how small the handles were from others, I now understand how that is a pretty valid point about this knife.

That handle is quite small.

I've been using an ESEE 4 as my go-to fixed blade for wilderness trips for a few years now (and it's been awesome). I recently got myself a Spyderco Bradley Bowie and haven't picked up my ESEE since. Mostly because the handle is soooo nice on my Bradley. The blade is also tough and holds an edge well, but the big difference in my hand is how much more I like the feel and balance of the Spyderco Bradley. Since you're already familiar with the great ergonomics of the PM2 I thought it might be worth your time to check out the Bradley Bowie as well. That said, the ESSE 4 is a knife you cannot go wrong with IMO...tougher than nails...

I don't have any good side by side pics for you at the moment but you can see here that the Bradley Bowie sitting next to the PM2 has a longer handle than the PM2.

The handle is very smooth and nicely rounded.

If you have any interest in the Bradley Bowie and want a comparison pic next to an ESSE 4 let me know and I'll put that together for you.

Apples and Oranges...? Mangos and Cumquats? Oreos and Chocolate Chip Cookies?

Seems odd to attempt a comparison. Just get both and be happy with the different features they both have.

They sure do - thanks a LOT!
That blue Para looks extremely good.
I'm not that worried anymore about the thickness / boxyness. Even though the handle is on the small side, I think I should be fine with it. This really helped, thanks again!

Nice pile of knives you got there :D

Thank you for the suggestion and pictures. The handle does look much more spacious and overall it looks like a more balanced knife. If it can be compared to PM2 ergos, that's pretty much ideal for me. However here it costs almost 3 times as the Esee 4 (very close to the price of Sebenza, just to give an idea). It's too much for me to spend at the moment.
Will keep an eye on it though!

If you're getting the Esee 4 - consider TKC, because they offer a blade only option...which you can select when buying their g10 scales. (They make a huge difference)

Thanks, I actually accidentally stumbled upon TKC scales only few days ago :)
