Photo Request Please: BM710 & BM705

They are not custom, all are production and LE's BMs. I got 'em all within last few years, but they've been out of production a lot longer.
The one you're asking about is a 707-702 with S30V blade.
Why they discontinue it? I don't know, probably because of bad sales :)

thanks. Very nice collection.

BM's last few years were populated largely with bland/boring/uncreative offerings. They have some nice stuff now (finally), but still need something like these older 705s and 707s. True classics that should be brought back.

Bought this 705 from a fellow forum member tonight. I'll make some comments about my first impressions when I get it.

I'm going to take a guess here and say you'll be surprised how small the 705 feels in hand. From the pictures at least, it looks much much smaller than the 710. Do share!

I just got the 705. Yep Kenix is right, it is small. The opening process is slower due to the smaller frame. I almost got my thumb on the edge on the first try.

I like it though. I intend to take off the clip and its screws and pocket carry this knife. It'll have to compete for time in my pocket with a few others I like. I general pocket carry, clip carry, and sometimes a bigger folder on the belt. A bit of overkill but its because i like my knives as much as anything.

I do think Benchmade could have done well with a 3.4 inch blade in this series of knife. I know I would buy that one too.

A prior poster said that the knife use just to thick for its size. Well I took off the clip which is the same as the one on the 710. It's not to fat now. Still a smallish knife and not easy to open one handed (at least for me) but I'm still very happy with this knife.

For guys that love the 710 and sometimes need a sub-3 inch knife, this is a good choice.
