Photobucket Help!!!! Thread closed./DSS

What is up with photobucket. All of a sudden none of my images linked to the forum are displaying. Anyone else having a problem? Logged into Photobucket and the best I could figure out is that I need to pay $399 a year for 3rd party image hosting....well that's not going to happen.

What are others doing? Does this mean the thousand plus images I've posted to this forum over the past 7 years are gone???!!!

I tried reading the new terms of service and was interrupted by so many ads I couldn't get thru it.
 
Well, I just went back to Photobucket and after clicking thru a half dozen ads I was able to read more. The Changes happened June 28. Can't recall I had any warning.

Question, when I post an image here, is that image linking or image hosting? That seems to be two different things but not explained. Image linking can be had for $100 a year but 3rd party hosting requires a $400 membership.....the message that displays where my images used to be refers to needing to upgrade for 3rd party hosting...

So this is what all my images on the forum look like now....

I had to pay for more storage a while back on Photobucket. Things did change a couple weeks ago but I adapted. Never had pop-up ads and that is where I think all the problems occur. I have had service interrupted and I think that is over with. I will try my usual way and see if it works. I tried to follow and I posted a second picture that I am having trouble deleting.

I had no problem. The change for me was instead of clicking the box of the picture that turns yellow. I now click the check box of the picture and a string of blue directions pop up from the bottom of the screen and then I click link, sometimes it turns yellow sometimes blue and then I click copy and bring up Bladeforums, type what you like and space down right click and click paste.
 
I did not have any problems deleting photos the other day and now I can't.

I had problems but I paid money like $25 for more storage before all of the trouble and when I could post the same way as before for two days and then problems and I read how ITE does it and I still do it a little different but it works. I didn't want to pay and then switch.
 
I just read Photobucket terms of use, looking for what I paid and found because I paid for more storage I am considered a paying member. I get all the goodies most of which I don't think I use except the linking of photos to bladeforums. I can't believe they take all of your photos and don't give a chance to download to another source. It is a shame, I have 4 computers all have pics and all have been disabled for one reason or another. I should have gotten an external hard drive.

I see you are a gold member. You should not need Photobucket. I heard you can post a photo right from your computer. I don't see the same screen. From what I understand someplace on the post there should be something like "post Image" and it goes right into the post after you select from your pictures.
 
So if I do not pay $400 and leave Photobucket, 7 years worth of images are gone unless I repost them from some other host, that would be a herculean task, I don't see that as easily done.

Michael says I do not need image hosting with gold membership. I did not know that. I'll go look.

Michael, all my images are still on PhotoBucket and I can access them.
When I refer to them as gone, I mean on this forum.
 
I have to hold down on the IMG and select all then copy. Then paste here.
 
I just tallied. Since 2011 I have posted 1,655 images to this forum from PhotoBucket. I could never rebuild all that from another host. That is a lot of lost resource and information to this forum.

I understand PhotoBucket is a business but to go from free to $400 overnight is unreasonable. How about $25...
 
DSS... what does your capacity meter on PB show? It could be you're getting close to, or have gone over the "free" capacity.

I don't have any issues with my PB and I spend the $25/year or whatever the smallest fee is.

The bad thing about uploading directly to this forum is that there's a limit to picture size, and a storage limit overall. At some point you'll have to edit the photos before uploading them here or you'll run out of space for it.
 
I'm only at 9% of free capacity.....
I couldn't immediately find any info about uploading directly, still searching the forum.

Roger,

When you are writing a new post and want to add a photo, there is a blue box right below that says "Upload a File". Click on that and it should take you to your computer where you can then click on the photo that you want to enter. After you have added the attachment and are ready to post, you will have the option of adding the photo full sized or as a thumbnail.

It sucks for any past content. I just downloaded my entire album(s) from photobucket.

If this is really how it's going to be, I wonder how long until other image hosts jump on board.

I think the issue just has not hit your account yet... reading the new terms of service, the $25/yr ad free membership does not entitle you to image hosting....
