Photobucket seems to be going monetary for anyone posting to other sites

Another way to look at it - 99% of the activity on this website is posting content. Content type A is text. Content type B is photos. It would be silly if we had to use a separate website to post text on this website. It is no less silly to use a separate website to post photos here. To me, it doesn't matter how convenient or ad-ridden the separate website is or isn't.
 
I've been on at least half a dozen different forums, not only is this the only one I pay a membership to, it's also the only one (apart from the ABS website which I don't really count) that doesn't allow free and unlimited photo hosting.

Go over to garage journal or anywhere else, you can post as big of a picture file as you want with no limits on how many and how often. And no option of paying for a membership.

In this day and age, unlimited photo hosting is part of running a forum
 
Regardless of that, I'd sooner use my own website as hosting rather than paying a 3rd party site
 
this is why I have never liked "free" software, because it's not really every free.....
 
i had about 10 years of threads get ransomed by photobucket. Why ransom you say? Because it came out of nowhere. They didn't give anyone any time to address their status. Whether or not they wanted to pay, or just move all their photo's.
 
It's just like THIS site. (Notice he hasn't chimed in?) "You know who" makes THOUSANDS & THOUSANDS of dollars every month from advertising on Bladeforums. But is it enough? Nope! Greed knows no bounds. He wants to ask members to PAY, when like we have demonstrated, it is the members content which make the site famous enough to HAVE advertisements in the first place! Greed. It's a sick thing. So I'm out!

Uh, what? Ok dude, I'm terribly sorry that you seem to think I'm rich or something. Believe me, I'd much rather be chilling out on a beach than doing my 10-6 job.
 
Goodbye David. You asked me to close your account, but I guess you are just doing it by leaving. With a few exceptions, non-paying members have as much voice and weight here than paying members.
