Howdy, cardimon. You're right, the Aeromedix description is vague.

I first read about the differences in this thread. I have one of the first version (Mk I?) lights, where the hood is cut off flush with the end of the light.

You are correct, sir.

Doug himself says, "After a lot of testing with friends and others we decided that the standard covert nose worked just fine, not many could tell the difference, and by using it instead of the special cut-off nose we'd be able to keep the cost the same even with the cost of the yellow bodies."
