Eric,

Thanks for the photos.

I'm surprised at the tatoo. I didn't think STeven ever used ink. I thought that he just enjoyed sticking needles into people. :)

I had a great time as well and from a makers standpoint (tax deductable) it was a very successful learning experience. Where else can you get up close and one on one for information and demonstrations to further a career than the (Greats) that Josh has lined up each year. Thanks again Josh.

Here are just a few shots I like:

Don Fogg explaining his very proven methods

Harvey Dean making a tradional slip joint right in front of us

Larry Feugan demonstrating how to carve ivory and antler

Owen Wood forge welding a monster billet of "herringbone pattern" precision damascus. Amazing demonstration. It was my favorite and so benefitial to everybody attempting to reach that level of damascus pattern development. WOW.

Heres what I'm talking about. Herringbone and wrapped explosion damascus on a top notch folder by Owen.

A pee stop on the way back.

It looks like you all had a great time. I didn't know STeven was still inking...I wouldn't mind having one of his.

Bruce, that's a great piece of steel. I had the pleasure of handling a couple of Owen's knives at the Milan Knife Show last year. One of the knives was a large dagger with a herringbone core/center. I tell you in real life it even looks more amazing then in the photos.....it was absolutelu flawless.

I thought you guys would all get something like a state of Montana tat to commemorate the event. ;) :D

Don't think my wife would believe I went to a knife show if I were to come home with a tat. :foot: :D

great picts , nice work on the Simonich Tat STeven :)

Thank you, John. I did the best that I could with what I had to work with, including, but not limited to: bad lighting, biting insects, a crowd of 20 or so people watching at any given moment, at least 3 photographers taking pictures, no arm rest, no sliding ability of the chair I was using, not doing a tattoo for over a year, making needles on the spot, lousy stencil, which I lost once, and had to reapply, and talky/slightly inebriated bleeders, who refused to stop moving....

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Hey i resemble most of them comments. But i do have to say STeven is a true professional and i feel honored to have had him do this for me. We talked about the symbolism of this and i believe he understood what it meant for me. One of the things that impressed me so much was that even under the constant onslaught of mosquito's he never once contaminated his sterile environment and kept his mind on what he was doing..............which is awesome to say the least.

Steven, it was great meeting you. I didn't realize that you weren't going to be there for the last day, so I didn't say goodbye.

Looks like it was a great and informative outing. Very glad it was such a success.

I did not expect anything else when it comes to STeven I think anything he puts his mind to he could do very well at.

Wish I could have gone

Funny, Jim.

That's a well drawn tattoo.

Wow, I don't recognize Don without his goatee...
