Photos from today's CCKS show.

Ok, that tank of a knife from Pro-Tech is a collab with Chaves Knives.

Redencion.

Chaves designed Auto - "TREAD" textured 2-Tone 17-4 heat treated stainless steel handles, Vegas Forge Koa Damascus drop point blade, satin hardware, pearl button, Chaves Skull steel machined clip.

Glad to see someone documented it, I missed the Arcane Plexuses but did catch the heavy Chaves Protech, no weight relieving like on the other Protech knives. Also saw an SS version of their new thumbstud button lock but it was a prototype and not for sale. Duane Dwier apparently has a North Mountain BBNL in the works, so looking out for that!

I was there on Saturday. I had a bit of a laugh with my wife, that I was in the wrong tax bracket to be attending. The first table had an open auction going and it was at $11k when I walked in a believe. 🤣 I wouldn't be surprised if the average cost of a knife there was over a grand. Anyways a lot of cool knives. I got to handle the newish mini MSI which I actually liked a lot, it's going on the list of future buys. Protech booth is also always fun and nice to chat with them. The new avalon is nice. Not as big as I expected to be honest, only half in inch or so larger than a TR3, but much slimmer in the pocket. I will say the name "California Custom Knife Show" is a bit of a misnomer, considering most of the companies aren't california based and most of them are midtechs at best. But there were some really pretty knives.

I personally prefer the Brea show, there's usually more variety and "custom" stuff there.

Yeah, Costa Mesa isn't the cheapest zip code in SoCal. From the CCKS website, it was something like $600 per table, for the vendors.

That cost and others, gets passed down to the buyer.
