Thanks. They are actually the grippiest of any UF scales I've had, but moreso, I think, because they have a little bit of degradation from age, ones Nathan said he found on the floor way under a work surface or something. He mentioned that all the carbon fiber was kinda rotten, but these look outstanding, feel grippy but tiny marks, etc point to that degradation.

They are both buffed maroon micarta, yes. The scales look a bit different only because of evening light, but they are different to the extent one is D3V and the other AEB-L.

Here are images of a 10 yr old pamphlet from the maker, Forrest Case Co. I'm pretty certain he is still in business. For years, he was an exhibitor at the Blade Show and had a large display of his cases, usually toward the back of the venue, but I have no idea if he still displays.

The pamphlet describes the product. The 2 cases shown in my post are 21x7x3 inches. The wood is an upgrade to birdseye maple. I imagine each case would now run around $100 including shipping, but just a guess.

I have ALOT of them and wouldn't use anything else. They work and they look good, too.
