This OGFK has been quite a North America trotter with plenty of stamps in her passport, but thanks to Justin @JustinFournier it has now found way it's way back to my other CPKs for the second and hopefully permanent time, this time around ;)

Much deserved gratitude to Momma NinJo @Jo the Machinist for adding the magic touches to this ol' gal OGFK. Truly, very very honored to have this one back in the fold:

^ Very nice OGFK @Casinostocks . The ECAM are hard to come by on those. It’s cool to read that knife has come full circle for you. Hang on tight this time... :)

Phil

Only a handful in existence. 6 IIRC.

I too have an OGFK with ECAM scales. I didn’t know that there were only six sets made. Thanks for sharing that info @JustinFournier . I do remember that it took months to find one and work a trade deal to get it.

On a similar note to @Casinostocks story, I gifted this set of scales a while back to a dear forum friend who is more of a collector than I am. Last year he was interested in an uncommon set of UF scales I had, so we worked a trade and the ECAM scales came back to me. I think he knew I kind of missed them, so he found an excuse to devise a plan to get them back to me. Thank you Amigo!

Phil, you have 2 of the most elusive OG CPKs

If I find the time, I will go back to search the 2 sales threads pertinent to the sales which offered the OGFK and the EDC1 patterns with the early ECAM options. I think that back then, Nathan either had not scored the motherlode out of that ship yard thingy deal or he had just tapped into a very small section of it. I dunno really, maybe Nathan can chime in.

I got some of the original material to try it out and see if I could do anything with it. It's very old stock (1950's perhaps) for bearings for prop shaft. It's round. It's not particularly simple to work with and I didn't know what I wanted to do with it. Once I figured out what it was and what I could do with it, I got all of it. Those OG FK were very early in the process.
