This handle shape is probably the nicest fit I've ever used (hard use demonstrated here)

Thanks, Marc. Thankfully only have had two in the yard. The one in the pic was about 15 feet from the cabin and leaning heavily. Hooked a rope up to my friend's truck and pulled for good measure but it was still a little sphincter puckering. 😁

^^ What kind of wacky variety of apples are those?

From last weekend. The fk didn't do much but spectate during the drop, cutting up and stacking/removal of the tree but was crucial when cold libations needed opening afterwards.

Late reply have been out of town the past week and a half. Apples are apocryphal in origin but hundreds of varieties grow in my area. These two are from some family land

I have had an EDC (what gen it is, I know not) for awhile now but I haven't carried or used it all that much. I had it in my pocket yesterday and was trying to figure out why I didn't gravitate to it as much as I thought I would. What I came up with is the fact that it was sporting Ironwood scales. Sounds a bit silly, right? Who would shun such pretty wood (settle down ;) )? As much as I love Ironwood and enjoy seeing it on knives, I also know what happens to Ironwood with use and handling - it darkens to an almost Ebony like appearance. Now I like Ebony, when it's actually Ebony, but I don't like it when Ironwood loses its figure and color so I think on a somewhat subconscious level, I have prevented myself from truly enjoying the knife that the EDC is.

Well, I had a solution already and I implemented it last night. I had a few sets of extra scales and I picked out a set of OD micarta and installed them, opting to keep the shiny hardware. I also am not much of a lanyard/fob guy - I find that they get in the way, especially on folders. However, on a little fixed blade that I like to pocket, a fob is most excellent so I made something crude but it works.

I was gifted this bead a few years ago in a Secret Santa exchange and have never found a use for it until now. It's kind of cool actually, the Mt. Hood bead from Hinderer's "Summit" series. I grew up on a farm with a daily view of some of the PNW's most prominent mountains - St Helens, Hood, Jefferson, 3 Sisters. (Jefferson from a hike a few years back pictured below)
