I just picked up the same WE66 sharpener and love it so far! Looks like you've had yours a while? Any pro tips on how to keep the stones from rolling toward the tip? I've been trying to only let the stone half way across the tip so it doesn't roll off the tip and round it, but still struggling a bit with that element.
You got it, only letting the point half way through the stone then lifting.

Slow. It. Down.

I'm no pro, as I'd rounded a few tips early on, but there's no need to perform those fast passes like on youtube. Just get your zen groove on and smell the roses.

Great advice- thank you! Sharpening is enjoyable- almost therapeutic. No reason to rush a good thing I suppose.

Yes...My PHAT/Senior puppy-dog eats pork egg rolls. (*That's why I'm "coining" it)

Yes...You're welcome to call the A.S.P.C.A. on me. (*BTW, you may want to mention that she also eats spicy "Thai" fried rice, Chick-Fil-A chicken nuggets, "Carne Guisada" tacos, and a host of other sh!T that her Vet hates)

Yes...That's an "EDC" of some sort, although I have no idea of the "Generation" or nomenclature... (*I stole it from PolRoger PolRoger , a few years back. It may have ECAM scales. I have no idea)

Also, when sharpening, when you are using the coarse stones and establishing a burr, it is acceptable to scrub back and forth. You're just trying to remove material, it doesn't matter how you do it.

Once the burr is established and you're going to finer grits, it should be edge leading except on the strop.

This way, you can get to the tip and just focus on the tip and just scrub it.

If you mess up with a light pass on a fine grit stone doing your final edge leading passes, you're not going to do a lot of damage.

Ohh I thought it was a teapot. Beautiful photos!
The little one's been into dragons and dinos for her entire existence. I really enjoy firing this beastly humdifier up early season, loving her squeals when the vapor snorts out of its nostrils. 🔥

Cool dragon ! Blame the wife for ours …. Super dry here, trying to keep the inside humidity at 30% or so …
Saw yours in a pic last week, showed my sweet girl. She said "there's a GREEN ONE!?"😅
