Wow, what an awesome looking dog! What do you think of your Boerboel? I love those dogs and keep thinking I'll get one once I settle down a bit. How are they as a breed?

Heres my dog Mojo. Hes 4 and is a black lab/chow chow mix. I picked him up from the animal shelter @ about 6 months old, he was a few days away from being put down....sad how there are so many great animals out there that deserve to be loved....

Hands down the Busse forum has the BEST looking dogs of any other forum with a thread of this kind - every last one of you guys have gorgeous dogs - I mean it!

Awesome pictures too.

This is my guy Oscar - mini-dachshund and the goofiest yet most stoic dog I've ever owned! Here are some of his better shots:

As pet owners, most of us have had to go through the difficult time of losing a pet. I've heard people say that they wished dogs lived longer, so I thought I'd share this explanation of why they don't. I can't remember where I heard this, but it has stuck with me over the years.
In the short time our dogs are alive and living with us, we grow so very attached to them, and our love for them is huge. Our Maker knew this when he created dogs, and he made their life spans short so that our grief would be manageable. Our dogs live 12 – 15 years, and when one of them dies, it takes us a while to get over them. Can you imagine what it would be like to lose a dog you had for 50 years?

They are the most insane guard dogs. This one is less than 5 months old in this pic, and already wants to attack people she doesn't know if they walk into our yard, yet at the same time she's like pudding to my two boys.
My cousin has two of them, big piece of land, and they are ferocious to strangers but lovely and meek to the family. They won't accept new faces though, unless you take a LOT of time. They have not been trained (in fact they can do with a bit of socializing to make them less 'sharp') but they will attack without warning. Amazing dogs, and very dangerous to strangers.
There's a story behind us wanting one, and it's working out just as we hoped. ;)

Great pictures guys!
Here are some of our pups Baxter and Ozzie. Anatolian Shepherds to help keep the mountain lions from eating our stock.
