Phrobis pat. pending vs date code ">"

What year or years was the pat. pending Phrobis/Buck made? Is the date code " > " which is 1987 an earlier model of the Phrobis Buck?

Hello and welcome!
I did some research and it looks like the first year of the commercial version had a Phrobis stamp on one side and the BUCK stamp on the other. This was in 1987 and it will be stamped BUCK, 188, U.S.A.>. The last year of the dual marked commercial bayonets was 1990 and they will be stamped BUCK. 188, U.S.A.x
After that, commercial bayonets were not stamped Phrobis.

Thank you for the info. It follows what I've been able to read. I wonder who might know what years the phrobis had "phrobis III , usa , pat. pending " stamped into the blade. I belive this was after 1987 when the date code ">" was used. I am guessing but it might be when buck was trying to take the patent over from phrobis.
