Does someone have a pic or a link where a 110, 112, and 55 are set up side to side for comparison?
Thanks...

Thank you Preston!
That is exactly what I was hoping to see.
Don't have many sporting good or Wally Worlds around here that sell decent knives anymore.
Reading that the 55 is half a 110 but always thought that a 112 would be a decent "small 110" so I wanted to see the 55 relative to them both.
Pretty cool pic and impressive match you have on the inlays.
Thanks so very much!!!

mfinden, you're welcome. There was no intent to match, all were acquired from different sources and at different times.

The 55 is about the size of a 503...IMHO it's less than half of a 110...but a neat little knife. The 112 or 501 is my favorite for a Buck daily carry and if I know that I'm going to be working it hard then I opt for the fingergrooved 112.

By the way the 110 FG serr. up for auction looks really nice. It's one with the ebony inlays...sure wish I hadn't bought up my Feb. allotment in Jan:rolleyes:. Good Luck with your bidding. Preston

I really like the 112, but it is still too big for pocket carry. The 55 seems to be a 110 type knife that is small enough to carry in ones pocket for those scenarios where a sheath is not appreciated. I also like the 532 as a pocket alternative and am in the process of procurring a 550 "Duke" but that I think it will also go into a sheath, but we'll see.

You are right, Mike, 112 is not good for pocket carry and the 55 is right for the pocket. I'd take the 501 for pocket carry over either the 532, specially the 500(it's a bigg'n). You don't loose much in the way of blade size w/ the 501. Preston

 ...Man...That 500 series has some great knives in it. Just have a really hard time finding anything to that's negative about any of them...IMHO they gotta be my all time favorites for EDC's...

Boys, I carried and liked the 055 but when I tried the 503 I've stuck with it. They're both the same size but I like the drop blade on the 503. I found the 501 just a bit to big to carry to the office. It's neat how we all like and use different size knives!

My very first Buck was a 503. I still have it and it is as good as the day it was given to me in the 1980s. I guess it’s the knife that first infected me. I thought the 550 was the King Charles, named for Chuck. I wish I had one, some day.

Dear Mr. Preston,
This pic is now my Windows wallpaper.
Take another one when you can.
There is a fiber/hair below the rear bolster of the 0/55 that drives me nuts.
Your Minion,
Goose.

"No, Sir." ;) I meant the one on Preston's pic.
That pic you posted is beautiful. Sirusly, gets me all poodle eyed.
Maybe I'll get a BG-42 Koa brass with pins instead of the Sambar NS DM.
I think I have a new Windows Desktop pic.
Think I will get that gizomo that changes pics so I can a few including ZZs' pic of his Indigo Girls.
Thanks Michael...
Goose.

BTW, does it really take 6 weeks for the BKCS to turn an order around?

Goose, I live with two black labs:D:...there's black hair every darn place:mad:.("everything tastes better with dog hair in it"). Preston

Ya think I take my Buck pics on camoflauge cause Beagle Bailey "Sydney" sheds in technicolor (brown, black, white, grey)??? Yep.
;)

Thought it was residual from personal grooming :D (actually thought it was just a pic flaw as it isn't that clear when enlarged to the screen).

It is a cool pic and is my desktop.
