WOOO! (drooling):p

you got lucky. i ran out of bourbon and didn't feel like stopping-by at the store earlier tonight. i should've been wasted by now instead of surfing here :p

anything in particular you're looking for?

Thats what i noticed too. The BK2 looks a tad bit fatter though.
Nice comparison pics.

both are 1/4" thick at the spine, RC5 has a slightly longer blade and more "open" grip.
I have wide palms, so the ESEE/RC micarta scales are more comfortable to me than the standard BK Grivory slabs. (I love the way my ESEE6 feels in hand)
ESEE gets the edge in customer service thanks to how they handle warranty questions, but Becker/KaBar takes pretty good care of their customers as well.
Becker gets the edge in starting price point. (if you upgrade to the aftermarket micarta Becker scales, that one's pretty much a wash, though)

RC/ESEE4 is a totally different knife with 3/16" spine and overall much more compact design.

thanks, guys. glad you like the pics.

tuffthumbz: they are very similar knives. since you have the bk-2 already i wouldn't recommend you get the rc-5. if you have $150 burning a hole in your pocket, add $20 or so and get the junglas instead!

Here are a couple more pictures but only of the RC5 and the BK2. I don't have the RC4... yet!

PERFECT thanks man! i guess the bk2 and rc5 are really similar?

They are really, really similar. I recently sharpened a BK2 for a forum member and was amazed at how close it is to my RC-5. I prefer my RC (ESEE) though. The handle fits me better.

Cool. I have a modded Becker and a 4. I'm in the passaround for the 5 so looking forward to some in hand, usage comparisons.

Thanks for the pics. I have a 5 coming any day now. I also have a BK-2 that I keep in the truck. Very versatile knives if your carrying only one , and a good splitter at the campsite.

Wow!

Cool pics.

The similarities in size between the RC5 & BK are good news for me.

I know what I'm getting next...

If I needed a knife to stop a tank both are fine. My problem is I like to go "high end" while the Becker is cheaper I believe you get what you pay for. I would just suck it up and go with the ESEE. Many more sheath options etc.
