Pic Request: Bone Linen on FDE Sheath

Unfortunately, I don't have a FDE sheath any more, but I do have two sheaths for my Bone Linen 5.1. One in black, the other coyote

Cervical spondylosis resulting in pinched nerves stretching down from the spine part on the left side of my neck down to my fingers. It hurts so much at first and I was in cold sweat and extreme pain 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Such a bad pain I could not eat and neither could I sleep. Pain killers, jabs and muscle relaxants did nothing to relief the pain. It was so bad I don't have the mood to open up the box my 5.1 came in for about a week. It's slightly more than two months now and the pain is not as severe but the entire left arm is now currently numb. I can see the knife slicing cleaning off newsprints after newsprints but I just can't feel the sharpness when touching the edge. Been though countless sessions of therapy and progress is unbelievably slow but I am hopeful that one day I will be able to really play with my 5.1.

Neil,

Just so I can get the colour balance in my mind right, between your pics, the Bone Linen handles are the same handles in both pics, correct? If so, did you switch the fasteners between the jade and linen? Or are they the same but it's just the lighting?

Sharp eye Justin. I did swap the fasteners. The final combo was jade/tumbled and bone/black. In that second picture with all three knives, they were reversed. All pics were with an iPhone under fluorescent office lights, so they're pretty bad by default.

Awesome Neil, then the Jade was the one you ended up selling, paired with the OD sheath; correct?
 
These photos have both inspired me and convinced me to go with Bone Linen scales and the Coyote sheath options when I preorder the 4.5 BC model. Thank you Neil :thumbup:
 
Makes me want to change the option on my 5.1 pre-order from May 9 to a FDE sheath. Then pair it with my green canvas micarta 20CV 5.1 and use the olive sheath I already have with the ghost jade pre-ordered 5.1.
 
How do you change your option(s) on the preorders? I don't see a feature on the Survive! Site. Do we just email the powers-that-be (namely Ms. Ellie) and burden them? If there's another way, I may want to change the handle scales on my GSO 6 preorder.
 
In that case, I will just have to live with what I thought was desirable at the time of ordering. I'm sure that Survive! doesn't need to waste time on my fickleness!
 
That same sentiment is the only reason I haven't already emailed them to get it changed.

In case you missed it, that's Mrs. Ellie Seiferd :cool: We even did a big fund-raiser as a wedding gift to them some time ago. They are married, she owns him, and definitely qualifies as "the powers-that-be" :D
 
Oh I definitely knew that they were already marred. That said, my manner of speaking or rather typing in this case, is a generational matter, I guess when I'm addressing a married Lady by her first name it is prefaced by Ms. And if by the last name, it's going to be Mrs. But I'm no English major ;-)
