It's quite small, shorter than the satin/boss jack. The flat of the hatchet is supposed to draw the weight forward a bit, but I found it to be very neutrally balanced. I know some people love it, but I don't see a reason to go for it over a heavier or longer knife.

I'm surpised by the handle length on the SAR series knives. You can almost hold the SAR 4 with two hands!

my hands are what I consider medium, 3 3/4" across from index knuckle to pinky knuckle, and the sar4 handle feels huge in them. That back end is long and tall. I get why Jerry chose that shape, it's just not something I'd ask for if I had something custom made.

Custom knife maker Mike Draper, his wife made the Damascus and he did the Ti.
I asked him to do it in the old Busse Rope pattern they did on the old knives and AK's
