Hope that titles makes sense. Looking for ideas on larger blades (anything above 5" really) with a bit of an upward curve to the belly. Not as extreme as a Kuhkuri, just upswept a bit.

I've got some ideas cooking.....;)

recurve? here's my Scrapyard Hook (the SY Guard is the same without the hook);

Overall length - 12”
Blade length – 7”
Thickness – approximately .280 (1/4” – 5/16”)
Handle – Resiprene C
Steel – SR77

and Justin at Ranger/Ontario makes some sweet recurves.

Yeah, the Yard Hook was the first to spring to mind here (I'm watching one for sale...)

Or, how about an Entrek Destroyer?

I really like the Martindale Paratrooper.
it's got a 10" carbon steel blade and has a Rockwell hardness of 44-50.
(can be had with a black coating as well)

i don't own very many big knives... i tend to prefer to chop with an axe...

here's one semi-big knife that i do have.. it was made by Robert Dark.. it sports a 6 in. O1 blade and natural micarta scales.... the sheath it came with is top notch, it's almost as nice as the knife....:thumbup:

Here's three I own that have "belly". Not really sure about your criteria, just a swell below the level of the handle, weight foreward for chopping, skinning ability, or just it's more pleasing to your eye?

Here`s one of my early ones, if I remember right the blade was around 6" long.
