I'm considering buying a G10/Full flat ground Endura. Seems its just a bit smaller than my millie. Anybody have pictures side by side?

Thanks!

Here are a few I just snapped.

Yablanowitz,

Would you by chance have a paramilitary you could throw in? I have a few Enduras, and was thinking between the millie and the para for my next purchase, but wasn't sure how they measured up (as in pictures).

Yab, it looks like you actually use your knives. A battle-scarred knife is a happy knife.

Yeah, I do. ;)

I probably should mention that the tip on that Endura has been reshaped. I detest the new hump-nosed reinforced points, so I regrind them first chance I get.

Excellent. Thanks for posting this.

Makes my decision a bit harder. Guess I'll have to get both.

Is a great knife! Mine is the smoothest opening knife I have, even smoother than my BG-42 Millie and that was hard to believe but it is true. I would get one if I were you and a Millie and a Police 3.

What is your thoughts on the FFG Endura as a work knife since it seems like you used it for that at least some? I have carried mine but day to day I only cut 550, boxes and thats about it.

It cuts a lot better than the saber-ground FRN versions. Edge holding would be very good if I wasn't carrying that S90V Military to compare it to ;). Overall, it is my favorite stock (well, sort of stock) Endura, but is still a ways behind my Krein regrind ZDP Endura.

Millie Vs. Flat Ground Endura....what's your pick?

Thanks for the shots, they are perfect!

Well for me I like the Millie better but yes I still like the FFG Endura and now I have it in my EDC Rotation, 1. BG-42 Millie, 2. Police 3 3. FFG Endura 4. CPM D2 Millie as for now this is what I rotate and is also in the the order of most liked to least liked.

Obviously, my pick is both. ;) That's why the Endura's clip is set for left hand carry. If I had to choose just one, the S90V Military would win hands down. It stands up to my use better than anything else I have tried, including a couple of ZDP Enduras. Against the regular S30V Military, it would be closer, but I like S30V better than VG-10, so the Millie would probably still win.

Typical blade forums answer! :D

I'll just have to order one to find out. I've seen a pic of one in FRN. Anybody know who has one in stock? Wouldn't mind saving a couple bucks and I don't mind Spydie's in FRN one bit.

The FRN versions are not flat ground, and in my experience don't cut nearly as well as the flat ground G-10 model. I even had Tom Krein turn one of my saber ground ZDP Enduras into a full flat grind, and I'm seriously considering shipping the rest of them to him for the same treatment.

Since Sal I'm sure reads a lot of these threads, I wonder if the next generation of Endura FRNs will be flat ground. Seems everyone wants them to be.

I think the saber grind on the Endura/Delica lineup might cut down costs and machining time? Since their supposed to be "workhorse" knives, I would think that they'd want the strongest blade possible, not just one that cuts.

A lot of people unconsciously abuse their knives. Use it as a screwdriver, a little prying, a little wire cutting. I don't think the knife is designed as a slicer.

The Endura and Delica are mainstays of the Spyderco line. By that, I mean they are targeted at the mass market rather than just us knife knuts (Afi's as Sal calls us). The mass market seems to like saber grinds and thick blades. The mass market also tends to use knives for screwdrivers and crowbars. The G-10 versions were aimed at the Afi market, where flat grind and thinner blades are preferred, and we are willing to pay more for the extra performance. I don't expect to see flat grind FRN versions from Spyderco.

well.. sounds alright to me. I like the saber grind. I'd never use my knife as a screwdriver or crowbar, but for what I need a knife for, it works fine for me.
