Pick a knife to carry while helping someone move...

Not sure what knife it is, but 2nd image, 2nd one from the top. Seems like a good moving knife to me, and less of a "weapon".

Leatherman. The need for pliers and screwdrivers tend to come up a lot when dis-assembling and re-assembling stuff.

Box cutters and beaters? Come on guys, what's the use of investi g innicehigh performance knives if we don't use them? I'm sure any of the excellent knives in the pictures would be more than capable to handle any task you might run into. I think one of the WH would probably look less threatening than some of the others.

Whichever one you choose, throw a SAK or multitool in your pocket as well. There's always something to take apart or repair during a move, plus it doesn't hurt to have a back-up knife blade.

I’d take an Opinel. Thin blade that cuts boxes well, much tougher than it looks, easily replaced.

Plus some sort of multitool or SAK.

Leatherman + SAK

Has the "tool" characteristics, so it won't scare anyone and its much more useful than just a single blade

It seems you can afford some rather high end knives.

I'd hire movers and drink beer with your buddy. :)

Take a Benchmade mini grip in M4, if you don't want to use a box cutter. I used both for my move a couple of months ago.

Come to that, I’ve cut a lot of boxes with my Rittergrip. It’s more than up to the task.

I never loan it, though.
