Pick my knife- crowdsourcing an edc

Sounds like it's time you tried a CRK like a small seb with micarta or large plain, just would have to save a little longer.

A nice traditional seems like it would be a good change of pace for you as well. A GEC 15 with caplifter is a great work to party knife but the great part about GEC is that there are so many variations you get to find the perfect one for you.

So I'm in the rare position to have money to spend on a knife and nothing lined up on my want list, and I thought I'd give this idea a shot. Basically, I want you all to vote for a knife you want me to buy and carry. The deal is, I'll use it as an exclusive edc for a month, and post updates and thoughts weekly, along with pictures of use on my instagram account (@edcdad) . However, because I drive a cubicle for a living, and like it, I have to set some guidelines.
-- No autos
-- No fixed blades
-- No full size multitools
-- Under 4" blade and under 6 oz weight
-- $250 or less
Those are the only requirements, everything else is fair game. Feel free to suggest multiple knives, I'll let the recommendations go for at least 24 hours (more if no one wants to play) until some sort of winner emerges.
Did something just hit the market that you're interested in, and you're not sure if it's for you? Do you have a favorite and want to give it some publicity? Do you want me to have to carry a gigantic folder to my office job and terrify my co-workers? Now's your chance. Vote now!

Houge Ex-01 - great for EDC, it virtually disappears in my pocket. Awesome knife. Button lock is different but VERY good. Currently, my second favorite knife after my zt0392.
ZT 0566 - smaller than Hogue, very nice!

Yeah, I also suggest the ZT 0562CF. Thin enough for casual or dress clothes but capable of anything.

Benchmade Griptilian and SAK Alox Cadet

I work in an office. Sit in a cubicle that's 8'x8' and mash on a keyboard. That's the two that are in my pocket every day, even on the weekends.

New ZT 0900 is available at Blade HQ at the moment. Till it sells out of course. Should fit your needs

So it looks like the top contenders are the ZT 562cf, the Techno, the Reate Hills...and a gas station knife. I'll update the post to get votes on these finalists

Get a Knifeworks exclusive Benchmade 710 in M390. Very versatile blade with great steel

It might help to let us know what you already have.... but I vote for the benchmade 940

Of those, I would vote for the 0562CF.

Have you considered a balisong, if you can carry one? A smaller one like the 32, or even the 51 at its light weight, makes for a nice EDC. The great thing about them is they stay interesting with all the different techniques and even simple openings/closing.

I did, but I think opening one in the break room to cut up tomatoes for my sandwich might raise a few eyebrows. I'll consider it though

Fair enough; I figured it was worth a mention. If you have the pocket space, it can work as a nice secondary, too, with the primary EDC being a bit more calm.

I look forward to your selection!
